A Chic & Mod Twist On Comfort Food

So yesterday was Groundhog Day and it seems that Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow, which means there will be six more weeks of winter. If you live anywhere on the East Coast, you can attest to the fact that we have already had a bitterly cold, snowy, freezing rain winter and was looking forward to an early spring. Since an early spring is not in the forecast, I have come up with some tasty chic and modern comfort food. If it’s going to be cold outside, stay inside and cozy up with some delicious bites!

So here’s some comfort food recipes with an added twist of mod and chic…

From the top left:

Cheddar, Bacon, and Fresh Chive Biscuits – These are great alone and are also great for sandwiches. Just split these in half, slather with some Dijon, pile on thinly sliced ham, and add a lettuce leaf.

Grilled Cheese and Short Rib Sandwiches with Pickled Caramelized Onions and Arugula – Any thing with cheese and rib is going to be good. After eating this all you will want to do is nap…

Mac and Cheese with Buffalo Chicken - Not the healthiest option, but how could anyone resist mac and cheese and buffalo chicken, this is a classic with a very tasty twist!

Green Chili with Pork – Simple, easy and a delish chili with a twist. This will become a winter favorite in your house.

Warm Chicken Sandwiches with Mushrooms, Spinach and Cheese - Whoever said spinach was not a comfort food, was totally wrong.

Try these out and let me know which is your favorite and a must-have comfort food. Mine is the the mac and cheese with buffalo chicken, hands down…

Enjoy!
